Cape Buffalo, Duba Plains, Botswana By Marius Coetzee; Durban, South AfricaAdd to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
It was the final evening of a 17-day safari in Botswana’s celebrated Duba Plains when after another exciting day we decided to stop for a short brake close to a herd of more than 1000 Cape buffalo. Shortly after stopping the bovids became mobile and in no time we were completely surrounded by masses of buffalo. The African sun was setting in the distance and perfectly silhouetted my subject. I looked through the viewfinder and the buffalo’s impressive hors was without a doubt the single most impressive feature in the frame. I managed to click a couple of images before the bovid lost interest in me and moved into thick scrub.
