Rain LionAdd to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
I followed this male Lion (Panthera leo) in Kenya’s Masai Mara for several kilometers as he was gently strolling behind a large pride of lionesses. Lions in Africa are now listed as vulnerable due to hunting (legally and illegally), conflict with farmers and a loss in natural habitat. Suddenly the heavens open above us as the rain came pouring down. Our driver was quick to move around and get into position as we waited for this impressive male to walk towards us. The male suddenly sat down and yawned, I opened the rain drenched canvas cover of our open safari vehicle and shot a small burst of images before moving back into the comfort of our now very wet safari vehicle. Camera was handhold.
